Bio
Maggie is a faculty member in both the Counseling and Social Change Program and the Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at San Diego State University. She is a Taos Institute Associate and completed her Ph.D. through The Taos PhD program in collaboration with Vrije University Brussels, Belgium. Her doctoral research examined cultural discourses about trauma and resiliency, the use of narrative therapy to co-construct stories of resiliency after relationship violence and sexual assault. She has worked in the relationship violence and sexual assault victim advocacy field and is currently a therapist in private practice focused on developing social constructionist counseling practices.
