Project INCLUDE

INterdisciplinary Collaborative Learning for NeUroDiversity-Affirming Special and Speech Education Service Providers

Project INCLUDE (INterdisciplinary Collaborative Learning for NeUroDiversity-Affirming Special and Speech Education Service Providers) is an innovative, interdisciplinary training initiative designed to address state and regional shortages of highly qualified professionals serving young autistic children with high-intensity needs. Supported by $1.25 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), the project will bring together graduate students in Early Childhood Special Education with an Autism Specialization (MA-SPED) and Speech-Language Pathology (MA-SLP) to build shared competencies, engage in coordinated fieldwork, and graduate as fully credentialed practitioners.

Over the five-year project period, 24 scholars (12 MA-SPED; 12 MA-SLP) will participate in a rigorous program of shared coursework, interdisciplinary seminars, and joint clinical and practicum experiences with full coverage for tuition and fees. Graduates will earn a Professional Clear Credential in Early Childhood Special Education or a School Certification in Speech-Language Pathology, ensuring immediate readiness to serve in schools and early intervention settings.
